The Grand Canal is Venice’s main thoroughfare, curving through the city like a glittering highway of water. Riding a vaporetto (water bus) offers a front-row view of Gothic and Renaissance palaces, their facades reflected in the rippling surface. For a more intimate experience, slip into one of the smaller canals on a gondola and glide beneath low stone bridges, passing quiet neighborhoods where laundry hangs over the water and church bells echo between the walls. Beyond the famous sights, Venice rewards slow exploration. Lose yourself in the districts of Cannaregio and Dorsoduro, where local bacari (wine bars) serve cicchetti—small Venetian tapas—alongside spritz and local wines. Kotor is a coastal city in Montenegro, nestled in a secluded part of the Gulf of Kotor. It sits on the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), one of the most indented areas of the Adriatic Sea. Along with the nearly vertical limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovćen, Kotor and its surrounding region create a stunning and picturesque Mediterranean landscape. Kotor is included in the World Heritage Site known as the Natural and Culturo-Historical Region of Kotor. MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS • Old Town. The Old Town is the most renowned part of Kotor, where the city's history, culture, and traditions are preserved. This is complemented by a multitude of narrow streets, squares, and markets. The main and largest square is Trg od oruzja (Square of Arms). Today, Kotor's old town is considered the best preserved medieval urban area in the Mediterranean. • Maritime Museum. The Maritime Museum holds the memories of the city's long history of sailing, the achievements of Kotor's famous seamen, artists, shipbuilders, craftsmen, statesmen, and diplomats, who served as intermediaries between the west and east. The museum is located in the baroque palace Grgurin. • The Island Gospa od Skrpjela. The Island Gospa od Skrpjela is one of two beautiful islands in Kotor Bay, located across from Perast in the bay. It is also known as "the island of the dead captains". The Island Gospa od Skrpjela is a man-made island, created by seamen from Perast and Kotor, who brought in large boulders on their large sailboats.

Brindisi is a city located in the southern part of Italy, specifically in the "heel of the boot" in the Apulia region, along the Adriatic Sea coast. Historically, due to its strategic location on the Italian Peninsula and its natural port on the Adriatic Sea, the city has been a significant player in trade and culture. Today, it continues to be a major port for trade with Greece and the Middle East. Brindisi is nestled between two deep bays that connect to the open sea through a narrow and deep channel. The Castello Rosso (Red Castle), named for the unique color of the stone used in its construction, overlooks this channel. The Swabian Castle, on the other hand, overlooks the port's western channel and is currently a venue for significant cultural events. Notable sights include the Church of San Giovanni al Sepolcro, which features a beautifully and intricately decorated marble portal, and the Colonna Romana (Roman Column). This column once had a "twin" that is now part of the structure of the famous Colonna di Sant’Oronzo in Lecce. The city's coast is dotted with beautiful sandy beaches, washed by the clear waters of the Adriatic Sea.
